This is the Bible

If there were ever a completely concise, all-encompassing book about how to tattoo; this would be the book. This book covers everything a beginner needs to know about getting started tattooing. Of course an apprenticeship is (almost) the only way to go to become a professional tattooer; but this book would help anyone with or without an apprenticeship. Even a professional tattooer would benefit from reading this book.
This book is actually a compilation of three of Erick Alayen's other books: The Craft of Tattooing, The Art and Science of Modern Tattooing, and Secrets of Tattooing. After those three books, theres about 80 more pages of appendices, and other related writing. The three books are organized by order of technicality (Beginner to Advanced), not in order of book release.
It is rare that there is a tattooing book that truly covers it all; but this is one of them. If a tattooer were 100% familiar with this book, as well as having a good apprenticeship, he would be well on his way to extremely successful tattooing.

Thus guys needs an editor in the worst way. Tons of grammatical/errors and redundant information.
Pros: There are some great tips from a veteran artist. As someone who had never read a book about tattooing it was a decent introduction to the industry. The writing style was endearing (despite the errors) and I liked the guy's attitude.
Cons: Probably too much information about tattoo machine logistics and functionality for a beginning artist (parts of it read like a machine manual). Very little information on technique. Needs much more information about sanitization and licensing.
