Arthur Bloch is the author of the Murphy's Law books, which have been published in more than 30 countries and have sold millions of copies worldwide. Since 1986 he has been producer/director of the Thinking Allowed public television series, featuring interviews with many of the world's leading scholars and researchers in areas of personal and spiritual development, philosophy, psychology, and the frontiers of science. Bloch also runs Hypersphere Design, an internet design company. He lives in Oakland, California with his wife, Barbara

Humorous and serious sayings and observations about mistakes, complications, and assorted other ways things "go wrong"

In modern times, Murphy's Law and its variations have been quoted and invoked as warnings against blind optimism and the often wishful thinking that "everything will go according to plan." This book does a very good job of collecting and organizing numerous variations of Murphy's Law into 32 sections or chapters that show their applicability to diverse subject areas and professions that include: experts, academics, bureaucrats, committees, research, technology, computers, business, sports, law, medicine, the arts, psychology, and other areas of modern life.
Despite the inclusion of some trite and some redundant variations of Murphy's Law, the book succeeds in presenting a worthwhile collection of sayings and maxims about the persistence of mistakes, failures, complications, and various other ways that things "go wrong." Many of the entries are humorous in a sarcastic, sardonic or satirical way. But, the humor seeks to provide "comic relief" in the face of life's adversities and human frailties, and to provoke serious thought about how to deal with them.

Excellent!

This book is hard to find. It is very well done and an excellent resource for the many "Murphy's Laws" that apply to the real world. When I finally found this at Amazon, I bought several copies for gifts.
This book was not in print the last time I checked. It should always be in print as it is ever relevant.

I bought the Murphy's Law books when they first came out. They provided me with a little laughter and some observations on life that have proven to be true over time. It will be well worth your time to buy this item. You will not be disappointed.
